Produced by the renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery, this exceptional bourbon has garnered numerous accolades, including a 2019 Silver Medal at the New York World Spirits Competition, a Gold Medal at the Whiskies Of The World, and a Double Gold Medal at the North American Bourbon & Whiskey Competition.

Crafted as a high-proof wheated bourbon, it is meticulously bottled at 107 proof. This distinguished bourbon is part of a coveted series named in honor of William Larue Weller, celebrating his family's storied legacy. Aged for 6-8 years, it is produced at the award-winning Buffalo Trace Distillery using Mash Bill #2, a blend shared with other esteemed bourbons like Pappy Van Winkle, Blanton's, William Larue, and Elmer T. Lee. This sour mash consists of corn, malted barley, and extra rye, creating a rich and complex flavor profile. Expect fragrant floral notes intertwined with sweet vanilla undertones on the nose, transitioning to hints of sweet fruit and strong vanilla on the palate. The finish is bold and spicy with profound cinnamon notes.

The history of this remarkable bourbon dates back to the 1740s when the Weller family established their roots as distillers. Settling in Kentucky in the late 18th century, Daniel Weller, William Larue Weller's grandfather, acquired a distillery in Nelson County. After serving in the Mexican-American war, William Larue Weller returned to Kentucky to join the family business, bringing his expertise as a wholesale whiskey salesman. In 1849, he introduced the first bourbon using wheat as a secondary grain instead of rye, creating a softer, gentler flavor with a slightly sweeter taste. This innovation led to the creation of iconic wheated bourbons like Pappy Van Winkle, Larceny Bourbon, and W.L. Weller's own. The popularity of Weller's bourbon necessitated a green thumbprint for authenticity on invoices and barrels.

Pappy Van Winkle, who began working at W.L. Weller & Sons in 1893, eventually became President of Stitzel-Weller Distillery. Following W.L. Weller's passing in 1899, Pappy and co-worker Alex Farnsley acquired the company in 1908. George Weller, William's oldest son, served as President until Prohibition prompted a merger with Arthur Stitzel, forming the Stitzel-Weller Distillery in 1935. Buffalo Trace acquired the W.L. Weller brand in 1999, continuing to produce the bourbon with a recipe nearly identical to Pappy's.

Please drink responsibly. You must be at least 21 years of age to consume alcoholic beverages.
